The American company Jeep planned to put on the market of the United States the modified classic Jeep Wrangler SUV with a diesel engine. Currently, diesel Wrangler models are sold worldwide, but not at home in the United States. For a long time, the Americans do not really honored engines on heavy fuel oil, but recently the situation has been changed, and it is evidenced by high level of sales of the RAM 1500 EcoDiesel pickup.

It is expected that the new version of the Jeep Wrangler will use the same diesel engine as the RAM. It is a power plant with the capacity of 3.0 liters, belonging to the EcoDiesel family and generating 240 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque. It will work with the new eight-speed automatic transmission. It is expected that due to the new transmission it will be possible to reduce the fuel consumption rate by 10%.
